MJ10007 is a high-voltage, high-speed NPN silicon power Darlington transistor. It was designed by Motorola (now part of Onsemi) for power switching in circuits where a very fast turn-off time is critical.
Key Characteristics
Type: Power Darlington transistor. A Darlington transistor is essentially two transistors in a single package, amplifying the current gain and allowing a very small input current to control a much larger output current.
Polarity: NPN (Negative-Positive-Negative).
Applications: It's well-suited for high-power switching applications such as:
Switching regulators
Inverters
Solenoid and relay drivers
Motor controls
Deflection circuits
Ratings:
Maximum Collector-Emitter Voltage (V_{CEO}): 400 V
Maximum Collector Current (I_C): 10 A
Maximum Power Dissipation (P_D): 150 W
Package: It comes in a TO-3 metal can package. This is a heavy-duty, through-hole package designed for high power dissipation, allowing it to be mounted to a heatsink for cooling.
